Subject: [Harp-L] Educator 10

Yes...this is a current thread on Slidemeister, where one of the posters
'Ziggy' has discussed this, his favourite chromatic at length...posted links
comparing its sound to his other several chromatics (dare you to figure out
which is which), and explains how he's gone back to this one as 'the' perfect
chromatic for him after years of playing regular chromatics.

It's definitely interesting and he's certainly intrigued a lot of people
who're interested in something inexpensive to play outside in adverse weather
conditions and/or in their cars.

While I haven't played an Educator (but am seriously considering getting one
although it's a little small for me) purely because of it's valvelessness, I
might differ with his take on it being a 'beginning' chromatic for diatonic
players. My personal favourites are those of the Cx-12 series which I play in
different keys and which lend themselves easily to bending ...are a joy to
play and maintain, and seem to me at least to be the perfect instrument for
players wanting to transition from a diatonic to a chromatic.

Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with the Educator 10
Chromatic? I want ease into the chromatic world and thought this might be a
good way.
